D24 exclusive:
Last night, Tuesday, groups of the national defense militia burned houses and shops in al-Mayadeen city in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
According to sources of D24 network, elements of the national defence militia have burnt some of the houses whose owners live outside the Assad regime-controlled areas.
The sources indicated that the reason for burning the houses and the shops is unknown, but it is likely to be an act of retaliation.
The sources pointed out that al-Mayadeen city has no fire brigades at all and that the Assad regime refused to intervene to put out the fires.
The sources also noted that the elements who burned the houses are some of those who have recently joined the National defence Militia.
It is indicated that the Assad regime and Iranian militias took control of the entire city of Mayadeen in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside in late 2017 following clashes with Daesh.
