D24 exclusive:
Today, Tuesday, sources revealed to D24 network that the medical sector conditions in the areas controlled by the Assad regime in the east of Deir Ezzor is very bad with no solutions or any procedures taken to solve the problems of the medical sector.
The sources confirmed that there are no orthopedic surgeons or neurologists in Al-Mayadeen city in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, which is controlled by the Assad regime, so that the people are forced to travel to Deir Ezzor city for treatment.
The sources indicated that there are also no clinical laboratories in Al-Mayadeen, and only two cardiac doctors work in the city, and their work is limited to simple medical examinations, as patients are often transferred to Deir Ezzor city center.
According to the sources, the medical association in Deir Ezzor city called on some doctors in the city, to work in Al-Mayadeen area to solve the problem, but the doctors refused to work there and insisted on continuing their work in Deir Ezzor city, without giving reasons.
With regard to the ambulances, the sources confirmed that the hospitals in Al-Mayadeen city refuse to transfer the patients to Deir Ezzor, arguing that the ambulances are broken-down, so the people are obliged to pay approximately 5000 Syrian pounds to transfer their patients to Deir Ezzor.
It is indicated that the Assad’s forces and the Iranian militias took control of Al-Mayadeen city in late 2017, but did not do anything with regard to the city’s infrastructure.
