Sources revealed to Deir Ezzor 24 that about 300 members of what is called “Imam Al-Hujjah army” militia have recently entered Al-Bukmal city and deployed to military points and headquarters that were occupied by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard militia.
According to the sources, a large group of the Revolutionary Guard left Al-Bukamal in the past days and were replaced by a group of Imam Al-Hujjah militia.
The sources noted that the most important points occupied by the new group in Al-Bukamal city included points and headquarters in the Corniche Street, military points near the water spring, and some farms that overlook the Euphrates River.
The so-called Imam al-Hujjah army is an Iranian-backed military militia, most of whose members are foreigners.
The Iranian militias have been controlling al-Bukamal since the end of 2017. It is indicated that Iran attaches great importance to the border city of Al-Bukamal through controlling it alone by several militias.
