Deir Ezzor 24 network received confirmed information from sources about one of the companies supported by Assad regime working in the field of “looted” materials.
“Hamsho” company is one of the most important companies responsible for buying stuffs stolen from destroyed neighborhoods and villages, where it established large markets on the outskirts of Al-Joura neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city to buy stolen materials, including electrical cables containing copper and the materials containing aluminium and other metals.
According to the sources, the three markets are located next to the electricity company south of Tab Ajjura neighborhood, and west of Al-Assad Hospital.
The sources noted that Hamsho company works with merchants belonging to the 4th Division, who in turn deal with thieves and “looters”, some of which are elements of Assad’s forces and the national defense militia, and the others are civilians from Deir Ezzor, who enjoy privileges by Assad forces, and no one can stop them as they have cards from the 4th Division’s security office, and after they gather the stolen goods each week, they transport them to Damascus by trucks.
The 4th Division is the only group after the Republican guards that does not belong to the Ministry of Defence, and its members carry cards allow them to enter civilian homes, and transport stolen items through security checkpoints.
It is noteworthy that “looting” is a policy followed by Assad forces, as a kind of reprisal against civilians, and is also used as a policy to attract more elements to their ranks.
