Yesterday, Tuesday, May 19, 2020, the autonomous administration in northeastern Syria recommended in a written statement that all the civil and democratic administrations, hold emergency meetings to review the purchase price of wheat from farmers.
According to the statement, the autonomous administration attributed the suggestion to the instability of the pound’s exchange rate.
In the statement, the administration called on all agriculture and economic bodies and committees and the farmers’ union to hold meetings as soon as possible and to submit suggestions to the administration to determine the new price of wheat.
It is worth mentioning that earlier last month, the autonomous administration determined that wheat be purchased from farmers at 225 Syrian pounds per kilo.
