In a unique initiative aimed at restoring life and beauty to the streets of Deir Ezzor, a group of young volunteers launched a campaign to decorate the city, according to a reporter of the DeirEzzor4 Network.
The initiative included, according to our correspondent, cleaning the streets and painting artistic murals on the walls, in an attempt to remove the effects of the previous stage and highlight a new identity that reflects the spirit of hope and change.
Engineer Ghaith Al-Hadi, one of the volunteers participating in the campaign, said, “The main goal is to improve the general appearance of the city’s streets by cleaning them, painting the walls, and painting artistic murals that express the aspirations of the residents.”
He pointed out that this step came to remove the old drawings that bear symbols of the former regime, and replace them with paintings that reflect the values and spirit of the revolution. He added, “We hope that this initiative will contribute to presenting a positive image of our city and enhancing the sense of belonging among its residents.”
The city of Deir Ezzor is witnessing many youth initiatives aimed at reconstruction and reviving social and cultural life in it. One of the most prominent of these initiatives is the erection of a memorial in Hamoud Al-Abed roundabout, which includes pictures of Syria’s martyrs, in a symbolic expression of appreciation for the sacrifices made by the sons of the homeland.
