The Olouk water station in Ras al-Ain countryside in the Hasakah countryside is the main source of drinking water for the cities of Hasakah and Tal Tamr, along with dozens of villages in their countryside, which makes its reactivation an essential step to address one of the most prominent service crises that the area has been suffering from for years.

Teams from the Ministry of Water Resources, under the supervision of the relevant ministerial committee, began rehabilitation work for the station, where the workshops began implementing comprehensive maintenance that includes cleaning the equipment, inspecting the mechanical and electrical equipment, in addition to lubricating the pumps to ensure their readiness for restarting as soon as possible.

In the context of ensuring electrical supply, electricity workshops in the Derbasiyah area continue work to connect the mobile transformer to the public network, with the aim of providing a stable electrical current that ensures the continuity of the station’s operation.

Olouk Station consists of approximately 30 external wells and four wells within its walls, in addition to an underground reservoir and a set of horizontal pumps connected to a main water pipeline with a diameter of 1,000 mm, extending for a distance of approximately 67 kilometers to Al-Hamma Station in the city of Hasakah, passing through the city of Tal Tamr.

During the past period, residents were forced to rely almost entirely on water tanks, in light of their high costs and lack of quality assurance, which increased the economic and health burdens, and returned the water file to the top of the priorities of residents in the area.
