Dozens of young men from Deir Ezzor are taking advantage of the Eid al-Adha holiday to work and raise money to establish small, sustainable businesses after the holiday ends, according to a Nahr Media correspondent.

Our correspondent said that a number of young men set up children’s games in various streets of the city, most notably Wadi Street in the al-Joura neighborhood of Deir Ezzor, during Eid al-Adha. The goal is to raise money to start projects after the holiday ends.

Omar al-Alloush, a resident of Deir Ezzor, confirmed that during the Eid holiday, he sold accessories from a small stall on Cinema Fouad Street, after obtaining merchandise from warehouses in exchange for a percentage of the profits. During Eid al-Adha, he began operating a children’s swing set on Wadi Street to raise money.

He added that his goal is to earn money to purchase an Express machine and open a beverage stand in Deir Ezzor as a sustainable business.

Some young men also resorted to purchasing motorcycles after raising money, with the aim of contracting with restaurants and stores to deliver orders and receive a percentage of the proceeds.

Some young men with these professions agreed during the Eid holiday to purchase a food and beverage kiosk after the Eid holiday, working in partnership with each other.

It’s worth noting that after the fall of the Assad regime and the return of some displaced persons to Deir Ezzor, the economy in the governorate has resumed somewhat, and a segment of young people have begun looking for sources of income through small projects that don’t require large capital.
