The Coalition carried out a landing operation in the western countryside of Deir Ezzour on Saturday afternoon.
A D24 correspondent said that, “the landing operation targeted the area of Hassassi Abu Hamid south of the mine of salt in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor. The Coalition used only one aircraft, which they landed on the Madhoul highway in the area opposite the village of Al-Tarif west of Deir Ezzor.”
He added that, “the operation has resulted in the evacuation of two Daesh commanders, along with their families, who were living in the town of Al-Shumeitiyah in the western countryside.”
The landing operation coincided with coalition artillery shelling on the vicinity of Hassasi Abu Hamid and the Khasha area south of the town of Al-Masrab in the western countryside.
This was not the first landing operation by the coalition in Deir Ezzor, mainly in the western countryside. The operation comes amid preparation by the coalition and their backed forces (SDF) for the battle of Deir Ezzor to expel Daeh from its last bastions in Syria.
