Deir Ezzor has witnessed three incidents of armed fighting between residents over the past 72 hours, amid a recent proliferation of weapons in the hands of young men, according to a reporter for the DeirEzzor24 Network.
Our reporter reported that an armed fight broke out yesterday between young men in the Al-Joura neighborhood of Deir Ezzor, in which hand grenades were used. An exchange of gunfire also occurred between two young men last Friday in the Al-Ummal neighborhood of Deir Ezzor.
Sources in the eastern section of the Deir Ezzor 24 Network said that a comprehensive campaign will be launched to search for and disarm civilians in the coming period in Deir Ezzor.
They added that these young men obtained these weapons from the headquarters of the former regime on the one hand, and by purchasing them from areas controlled by the SDF on the other.
Deir Ezzor is witnessing a large proliferation of individual weapons in the hands of young men, leading to their use in celebrations and fights, as well as for trafficking.
