Today, cargo planes belonging to the World Food Program dropped 23 food aid shipments over the besieged neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor city ( Al-Joura, Al-Qusour, Sheikh Yassin and Al-Oradi), which are under the control of the Assad regime.
A D24 correspondent reported today that the SARC collected the shipments once they landed on the ground, resuming the distribution of food aid to trapped civilians after that.
He added that, “the distribution process will be divided into different stages. On Tuesday, the distribution will be in the Joura neighborhood, on Wednesday in the Sheikh Yassin and the Cinema Fouad area, on Thursday in the Jabilah area and the Qusour and alOradi on Friday. The food parcels are composed of 10 kg of rice, 5 kg of lentils and 5 kg of beans.
Civilians living in the besieged areas have been facing poor living conditions due to the siege that has been imposed on the city for more than two years by Daesh.
