DeirEzzor24 Network has monitored an increase in truffle smuggling operations, recently, between the areas controlled by the Assad regime and SDF in Deir Ezzor.
Our correspondent said that large quantities are being transferred via river smuggling, especially from the western countryside of Deir Ezzor “west of the Euphrates” to the corresponding areas “east of the Euphrates” under the control of the SDF.
He added that the average price of one kilogram of truffles reached 25,000 Syrian pounds, as quantities of truffles are transported from Deir Ezzor to Hasakah and from there to Iraq

The truffle collection operations in the areas controlled by the Assad regime in Deir Ezzor witnessed many incidents this year, such as mine explosions and armed attacks that have claimed the lives of more than 20 truffle collectors so far.
