The head of the SDF, Mazloum Abdi, met yesterday, Tuesday, with a delegation of Deir Ezzor intellectuals to listen to the demands of the people of Deir Ezzor, at the base of the Al-Omar field, in the presence of the coordinator of the Global Coalition, according to a local reporter of DeirEzzor24 network.
The sources said that several issues were discussed during the meeting, and several items were agreed upon between the two parties:
1- Abolition of tribal quotas in civil institutions.
2- Abolition of military appearances in Deir Ezzor.
3- Release of detainees in recent events whose hands were not stained with blood.
4- Cancellation of what is known as the expatriate card.
5- Reducing the authority of tribal sheikhs and granting broader powers to civil society organizations.
6- Fighting rampant corruption in the Deir Ezzor Civil Council.
7- Activating oversight and inspection.
8- Activating the Political Parties Law.
9- Adopting the technocracy law in decision-making centers.
10- Restructuring the military and civil councils of Deir Ezzor.
11- Giving a share of the region’s wealth to the people.
12- Activating the role of the Office of Detainees’ Affairs in Deir Ezzor and the file of forcibly disappeared persons in SDF prisons.
This meeting comes within a series of meetings held by the SDF with activists from the countryside of Deir Ezzor and in the presence of representatives of the coalition, in the wake of the military clash that the region witnessed recently between the SDF and fighters from the tribes.
