The rubble removal and street cleaning campaign in the destroyed neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor city has been ongoing for four days, according to a DeirEzzor 24 reporter.
Our reporter said that teams are working to remove rubble and garbage dumps from the Old Airport, Al-Ummal, and Al-Jubailah neighborhoods in the center of Deir Ezzor city.
He added that this campaign is being carried out in cooperation between the municipality, the Technical Services Directorate, the Civil Defense, and the Clean Environment Foundation, in response to repeated complaints from residents about the presence of rubble and waste.
Abdul Latif Al-Huwaij, a resident of the Al-Ummal neighborhood, confirmed that the destroyed neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor city, including the Al-Ummal neighborhood, are witnessing a gradual return of residents and the commencement of home rehabilitation work, which has led to an increase in the accumulation of rubble recently.
He added that it is necessary to continue regular cleaning campaigns in the Al-Ummal, Al-Hamidiyah, and Al-Jubailah neighborhoods, as displaced residents have returned to their homes and the maintenance and rehabilitation of their homes has begun. Residents of the Al-Jubaila neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city called on the relevant authorities to work to maintain the water and sewage networks in the destroyed neighborhoods, as a result of the damage they sustained over the past years.
