Today, Saturday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) reopened Al-Salhiyah land crossing at the northern entrance of Deir Ezzor city, after it has been closed for several months, Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent reported.
Our correspondent, said that the reopening of Al-Salhiyah land crossing, that connects the areas of the SDF control with the areas controlled by Assad’s forces, caused a great dissatisfaction among the people of Deir Ezzor, especially the displaced people, whose villages and towns east of the Euphrates are occupied by Assad’s forces and the Iranian and Russian militias. The correspondent noted that a limited segment of Deir Ezzor’s people welcomed the idea of reopening the crossing, including the employees in the Assad regime’s circles, some merchants, and the members of Assad’s forces and militias who have families in the SDF-controlled areas.
It is noteworthy that Al-Salhiyah land crossing, that is located in Al-Salhiyah town at the northern entrance of Deir Ezzor city, has been closed for nearly five months after the people of Deir Ezzor staged mass demonstrations in the region, demanding the closure of all crossings with Assad regime, the severance of relations with it, and expelling its forces and the Iranian and Russian militias from Deir Ezzor.
