DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
Deir Ezzor markets in the areas controlled by the Assad regime have witnessed a significant increase in the prices of batteries of all kinds, according to the correspondent of DeirEzzor24 Network.
He said that the price of gel, liquid, and other batteries has increased dramatically, due to the increase in electrical rationing hours, as it ranged from 200 to 375 thousand Syrian pounds for the small one, and 900 thousand Syrian pounds for the large 12-black battery, while the price of the 250-ampere batteries reached nearly 2 million Syrian pounds.
He added that a discrepancy in prices was observed between the shops by about 50,000 pounds per piece, while the shop owners claim that the price hike is a result of the collapse of the pound’s exchange rate against the dollar, the Fourth Division’s checkpoints and military security royalties from battery shops.
The increase in the prices of batteries was accompanied by an increase in the prices of chargers, as it ranged from 80,000 Syrian pounds for a 10-amp charger to 190,000 Syrian pounds for a 40-amp charger.
