The National Hospital in the city of Al-Mayadin, east of Deir Ezzor, has been out of commission for several years, and a local reporter of DeirEzzor24 said that international organizations provided support to rehabilitate and equip it.
He added that the hospital suffers from a lack of medical staff on the one hand, and the theft of most of the equipment allocated to it on the other hand.
He confirmed that the reason why doctors and nurses refused to work in the hospital was due to poor salaries in areas where Assad’s forces were present.
The city of Al-Mayadin suffers from a severe weakness in the health sector, as a result of which residents are forced to transport their patients to hospitals in the city of Deir Ezzor.
