Today, Saturday 7-3-2020, a number of Deir Ezzor’s people were humiliated and insulted in Al-Salhiyah town north of Deir Ezzor by the town’s mayor, “Abdul-Rahman Ghazi,” during the distribution of relief aid by a humanitarian organization, according to Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent.
The correspondent said that the mayor insulted and humiliated the civilians who came to receive food parcels, describing them as members of Daesh, who don’t deserve the assistance provided by the government.
Al-Ghazi was known to have sold state-owned lands in the vicinity of the 113th Brigade and Diro project, at the time when the FSA was controlling the region.
After Daesh took control of the region, he had good relations with the group’s security members to maintain his interests in the region.
Then after Assad’s forces took control of Al-Salhiyah town, he worked to get closer to Assad regime, by writing reports of the town’s people, which led to the arrest of a number of civilians.
Now, Al-Salhiyah town is under the control of Assad and the Russian forces, and is the main entrance to Deir Ezzor from the eastern Euphrates areas that are under the control of the international coalition and the SDF.
