Smugglings have remarkably flourished recently on the Syrian-Iraqi border near al-Bukamal city east of Deir Ezzor, informed sources told Deir Ezzor 24 network.
According to the source, the smuggling operations are run by a network of “local” smugglers in high-level coordination with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard militia.
The source confirmed that “Haj Salman”, a leader of the Revolutionary Guard, receives a share from the smuggling operations revenues.
The operations include the smuggling of oil products, food stuffs, steroids, drugs and arms. The smugglings are often carried out through the border crossings without being intercepted or checked by both sides on order of the Revolutionary Guard militia.
