Yesterday, Thursday, the spokesman for the international coalition, Colonel Caggins, said in a tweet on his Twitter account that the international coalition and the SDF conducted a qualitative operation against Daesh cells in Deir Ezzor at midnight on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.
“Yesterday, Wednesday, the coalition forces and the SDF conducted a joint operation, targeting Daesh elements in Deir Ezzor,” Colonel Caggins said in his tweet.
He also confirmed that the coalition had arrested a “Daesh mid-level fighter.”
It is indicated that the international coalition and the SDF have conducted a security operation in Azzir village east of Deir Ezzor, during which coalition special forces, accompanied by SDF ground forces, carried out an airborne operation that resulted in the arrest of a Daesh member of Iraqi nationality, while two other members blew themselves up with explosive belts.
It is noteworthy that from time to time, the international coalition and the SDF carry out occasional security operations in the areas of Deir Ezzor east of the Euphrates, targeting Daesh cells responsible for criminal acts in the region.
