DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
Today marks the fifth anniversary of the killing of more than 40 civilians, mostly elderly and women, in the seven villages east of the Euphrates, at the hands of Russian forces, Iranian militias, and Assad’s forces.
This is when the Russian forces built a war bridge between the towns of Al-Mariya (west of the Euphrates) and Marat (east of the Euphrates) near the water purification plant, to cross groups of the Russian Wagner militia with the support of the Fatemiyoun and Zainabiyoun militias and the Fifth Corps of the Russian First Division, after preparing artillery and rocket launchers, in order to race to reach the Conoco gas plant in the Ezbeh area, north of Deir Ezzor (15 km from the Euphrates River).
In that attack, the militias committed a massacre that killed more than 40 civilians in several villages, during which houses, cars, tractors and agricultural crops were stolen by the attacking militias.
With the participation of the Tribal Army, led by the so-called “Turki Albuhamd” from Raqqa Governorate.
The attack caused a mass exodus of the people of those villages towards Al-Hasakah province and the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, so that Daesh, which controlled the area at the time, responded by mobilizing its members in the entire Deir Ezzor Governorate, where, hours later, it managed to expel the Russian forces and Iranian militias, so that Assad’s forces and Russian forces regained control of the seven villages (Hatla). , Al-Salihiya, Al-Hussainiya, Marrat, Khasham, Mazloum and Tabia Island) after battles with Daesh, and crimes against the residents of these villages.
