Tabqa City Council issued a decree to remove stalls from the main street in the city market, as part of efforts to reduce congestion and regulate traffic in the area.
The Council explained that the decree includes transferring the sellers to a designated market that is being prepared opposite the municipality building, in a way that ensures the continuation of their work within an organized and safe location that preserves their rights and provides a suitable environment for commercial activity.
The council pointed out that work is currently underway to resume the necessary procedures to fully complete the preparation of the alternative market, after the preparation work began on October 27, 2025, before stopping temporarily.
Tabqa City Council called on all vendors and citizens to cooperate with this decision, stressing that the alternative market will be provided with basic services and organized spaces, which will contribute to stimulating commercial activity and achieving its sustainability.
This measure comes as part of a comprehensive plan to regulate the city’s main street, which includes a number of clinics and health centers, ensuring the smooth flow of traffic, the movement of ambulances, and civil defense a top priority.
