The production capacity of the Euphrates Mill in Deir Ezzor has reached about 130 tons per day after the implementation of an improved production plan.
The Deir Ezzor branch of the Syrian Grain Establishment has put the second production line into service following the completion of its rehabilitation works, with a production capacity of 70 tons of flour per day.
The Euphrates Mill contributes significantly to meeting the needs of the province’s bakeries, which number around 85, including 71 private bakeries and 14 automated ones. Several bakeries have gone out of service due to the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) over some villages in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
The Grain Establishment branch provides wheat to the mill from local production to cover the majority of the province’s flour needs, while the remaining quantities are brought in from other provinces with reduced transportation costs. The bran resulting from the milling process is supplied to the Deir Ezzor branch of the Feed Establishment.
It is worth noting that Deir Ezzor province’s daily flour requirement is estimated at around 220 tons.
