A member of an Iranian proxy militia was killed and three others injured when gunmen attacked their checkpoint in the vicinity of al-Mayadeen city, a source told Deir Ezzor 24 network.
The source said: “On Saturday, September 12, unidentified gunmen attacked a checkpoint of Al-Hussein Brigades militia on the outskirts of Al-Mayadeen city from the east, killing one member and injuring three others. Following the attack, the area remained on high alert until the next day.”
The attack was part of a series of attacks carried out by unidentified gunmen believed to belong to Daesh on the posts of Assad’s forces and supporting militias in all over the areas they control in Deir Ezzor.
