The State Security Branch in Deir Ezzor confiscated large quantities of flour and arrested some merchants in the towns of Al-Husseiniyah, Marat, and Al-Mariyah in the Deir Ezzor countryside, according to a DeirEzzor24 network reporter.
He added the confiscated flour belongs to the bakeries’ allotments, and is sold by the bakery owners to merchants who in turn sell it on the black market.
Most of the bakeries that sell subsidized flour at the expense of insufficient quantities and manipulation of the weight of the loaf are invested by Maher Al-Mufarrej.
