D24 exclusive:
Today, Wednesday, sources revealed to D24 network that the National defense militia in Deir Ezzor Province filed a request to the governor of Deir Ezzor and the Assad regime’s military leadership to consider the deaths of the national defense to be martyrs.
The militia demanded that its deaths are considered to be martyrs, and to be included in the records of the Assad regime’s Ministry of Defence in order to receive benefits for the militia.
The sources noted that the militia’s request was categorically rejected. It is indicated that it is the fourth time that the same demands were rejected by the Assad forces leadership in Deir Ezzor.
The rejection angered the leadership of the National defence Militia in Deir Ezzor, where a verbal altercation took place between the two parties in the Deir Ezzor Governorate building.
As a result, the National Defence Militia leadership in Deir Ezzor province called for a meeting of all the military sectors to address the rejection of the request about considering the deaths of the national defence to be martyrs by the Assad regime.
The National Defence militia withdrew its elements from two checkpoints near Aiyash town in the western Deir Ezzor countryside, as a form of protest against the rejection of its requests.
It is indicated that the National defense militia is led by Firass Al-Iraqiyeh, and its forces are deployed in a number of areas controlled by the Assad regime in Deir Ezzor province.
