A broad meeting was held earlier today at the U.S. base in the city of Al-Shaddadi, located in the countryside of Al-Hasakah. The meeting included leaders from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), representatives from the civil and military councils of Deir Ezzor, as well as a number of tribal leaders and cultural figures from the region, according to sources cited by DeirEzzor24 network.
According to informed sources, the meeting discussed a proposal to launch an experimental “integration of civil and military governance” in Deir Ezzor as a first step. The pilot phase is set to last no more than three months and aims to test the feasibility of joint coordination and to achieve greater stability in the region.
The same sources indicated that if the experiment proves successful in Deir Ezzor, it could serve as a model for similar decisions in the governorates of Raqqa and Al-Hasakah, as part of a broader vision to restructure local governance mechanisms and improve relations between civil and military councils as well as with local communities.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the Autonomous Administration and the International Coalition to strengthen stability and reduce tensions in areas under their control in northeastern Syria.
