Yesterday, Wednesday, Imagesat site posted images show Iran building a tunnel to store advanced weapons at Imam Ali base near Al-Bukamal city east of Deir Ezzor.
The images posted by the site show trenches and tunnels under the base, that is considered to be the most important base for the Iranian militias in the eastern region due to its proximity to Iraq.
Over the past few days, Deir Ezzor 24 network has monitored Iran’s new strategy of repositioning its forces in eastern Syria, particularly in Deir Ezzor.
The repositioning came as a result of the increased repeated air strikes, that are likely to be carried out by Israeli warplanes on Tehran-backed forces in Deir Ezzor .
The satellite images contradict the recent Israeli assurances that Iran has begun withdrawing from Syria, as the satellite images show the Iranians highly active in the region.
It is indicated that Iran dominates the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside and uses it a backyard for its expansion projects, due to its important location on the border with Iraq, as it is the only land route through which Iran brings weapons to Syria.
