A Russian officer and a number of the National Defense Militia members were killed, and two members of the Russian Forces were wounded, when explosive devices targeted their military convoy in Al-Mayadeen city east of Deir Ezzor, according to Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent.
In the details, our correspondent said that a group of six members of the National Defense Militia went missing on Monday, August 17, in the badiyah of al-Mayadeen city, because of which another group including Russian officers and soldiers, the commander of the National Defense Militia, Mohammed Tayseer al-Zahir, and 30 members of the militia followed them to comb the area when explosive devices targeted them. The explosion led to the killing of a Russian officer, the national defense militia commander and 5 members of the militia, and the wounding of another Russian officer and several members of the militia.
