On September 9, 2020, people demonstrated in the square of the town of al-Baghouz, eastern Deir Ezzor against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The demonstrators protested the SDF fighters’ action during raids last night.
Last night, an SDF large group headed by Hafal Ankeel raided the house of Salem al-Khalf who is the head of the local council of al-Baghouz. The SDF surrounded and inspected houses in al-Baghouz for two hours, arresting two people for unknown reasons.
A source close to al-Khalaf told Deir Ezzor 24 that the reason for the raiding al-Khalaf’ s house is his submitting complaints to the Autonomous Administration’s leadership against SDF patrols which raided his house on different occasions for no reasonable reasons.
On Tuesday, the SDF’ public security services arrested the head of the Deir Ezzor Civil Council’ cabinet due to an argument with commanders of the services about Arabs’ role in running the area.
