The National Defense (ND) militia submitted eight fighters for investigation in the city of al-Bukamal on charges of cooperating with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

A source told Deir Ezzor 24 that ND’ centers in al-Bukamal and al-Mayadeen scrutinized fighters’ registries, data, and political orientations before they joined the ND.

The source emphasized that the ND scrutinized the fighters’ registries upon an order by the Assad intelligence to follow up the fighters.

The ND is an Assad forces parallel militia headed by Firas al-Jaham. The ND militia is deployed to the Assad regime-controlled areas in Deir Ezzor.
