DeirEzzor24 network learned from a private source that 18 members of the Assad forces defected en masse from Ain Issa area in Raqqa countryside towards SDF-controlled areas in Deir Ezzor province.
The source said that the elements defected for reasons related to their security pursuit by the Assad regime, on charges related to smuggling diesel towards areas under the control of the National Army.
Another source told DeirEzzor24 network that the reason for the escape is related to their accusation by officers in the area of engaging in human organ trade carried out by those officers.
Assad’s forces have recently increased their presence in the Ain Issa area in Raqqa countryside, after recent understandings with SDF.
