In a strange incident that occurred in Al-Bassirah city in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, an armed gang kidnapped a shop owner and threatened to kill him if he tried to stop them from stealing from his shops whenever they want.

According to D24 correspondent, an armed gang of masked men in a van in Al-Bassirah town kidnapped a civilian who owns a bunch of shops in the city market, and after kidnapping him and stealing what he had, they took a copy of his shops’ keys and threatened him that they would come repeatedly to take their needs from the shops and in case he changed the locks or told any one about the details, they will burn the shops and return to kidnap and kill him.
It is indicated that Al-Bassirah city has witnessed protests and demonstrations during the past days due to arbitrary arrests and repeated violations by the SDF as well as the security chaos in the SDF-held areas and the resulting kidnapping, theft, and corruption.
