Sources told Deir Ezzor 24 that a commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Militia (IRGC) , who is called Haj Mahdi, was injured in the Deir Ezzor badiya on Saturday.

The sources added that Mahdi sustained shrapnel in the body and was transported to hospital. The sources said that a landmine explosion injured Mahdi as he was moving around al-badiya.

The source noted that Mahdi’s health condition stabilized somehow after the removal of some shrapnel.

Haj Mahdi is a nickname of a commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Militia. The Damascus-born Mahdi is the official of catering.
