Russia and Iran race to support Assad’s election campaign in the Assad forces-controlled areas of Deir Ezzor.
Iran distributed food aid in return for people’ voting for Assad, and supported election tents like the al-Madlaji roundabout tent which Haj Jawad directly supported.
Russia supported the Sabi’ Bharat roundabout tent that was named the Watan tent which hosts the majority of formal activities of the Assad officials and officers.
Bashar al-Assad announced an election campaign named al-Amal bi al-’Amal (Hope in work), as many election tents were opened along the Assad-controlled areas of Deir Ezzor to support the campaign.
