This morning, Tuesday, the international coalition launched a raid near the Russian-controlled Al-Kharata oil field, in the context of threats to the field and its surroundings.
The US-led coalition forces target the Russian-controlled oil fields as part of the competition for control of oil and gas fields in eastern Syria, where these powers share control of oil and gas wells, in what they call “guarding” oil.
Al-Kharata oil field contains stations for oil pumping and storage, and is located about 20 km southwestern Deir Ezzor.
