Abu Mahmoud al-Iraqi, a senior leader of Daesh, was killed during the past two days in an international coalition campaign on the Al-Rawdah Reserve area in the northern Deir Ezzor badiyah near the Syrian-Iraqi border, according to Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent.
Al-Iraqi, aka “Al-Mulla”, held several positions in the organization, the most important of which was leading the cells responsible for bombings, and distributing weapons and vehicles. More recently, he was directly responsible for disbursement and distributing salaries to fighters. He has been one of the most important leaders of the organization in eastern Syria over the past years.
The international coalition and the Syrian Democratic Forces launched a military security campaign on several positions where Daesh is active in the northern badiyah of Deir Ezzor two days ago.
