On Saturday, October 10, Tribal leaders, and military and political representatives of al-Shaitat area, and the villages and towns of al-Bukamal countryside in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside held a meeting.
The meeting was held at the house of one of al-Shaitat elders, and was attended by a number of elders and dignitaries of the region, according to Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent.
The correspondent said that the meeting addressed many topics related to Deir Ezzor province in general, and the eastern Euphrates areas in particular.
The meeting emphasized the necessity to take serious steps to keep pace with developments in the region.
Mehaidi al-Ja’ela “Abu Saleh”, one of the region’s dignitaries, stressed the necessity to cooperate with military and civilian institutions representing Deir Ezzor in the autonomous administration, and to rely on them as the cornerstone of stability in Deir Ezzor.
Abu Saleh said that the people of Deir Ezzor had to participate in the process of establishing stability in the region, which has become an imperative necessity, and to “avoid the mistake of the Iraqi Sunni tribes, who refused to participate in any political process concerning their country, and boycotted all activities and initiatives, so the result was that they lost their country and influence.”
The attendees called for the elimination of corruption in the civilian and military bodies operating in Deir Ezzor, and the need to allow the competencies of Deir Ezzor to participate in improving the situation of the region at all levels.
The meeting concluded by inviting the civilian, military and political entities of Deir Ezzor to join hands to establish stability and security in Deir Ezzor and the areas adjacent to it.
