Today, a group of military security forces arrested three local members of The Iranian militias in Al-Mayadeen city, according to sources for Deir Ezzor 24 network.
The same sources noted that the three elements were arrested for the purpose of putting pressure on the Iranian militias to send the defectors back to Assad’s forces.
The sources confirmed, that this incident came after a meeting was held a few days ago between leaders of the military security and the National Defense Command in Deir Ezzor to discuss the issue of the defectors who joined the ranks of the Iranian militias, where the meeting resulted in an agreement between the two parties to use force to bring back the elements, which prompted the Iranian militias in Al-Mayadeen city to take defensive measures such as the establishment of earth mounds and barricades around their headquarters.
It is worth mentioning that during the previous period, there have been several defections from the Assad’s forces in Deir Ezzor, where the defectors joined the ranks of the Iranian militias due to the material advantages provided by these militias to their elements, in addition to the privileges enjoyed by their elements, compared to the Assad’s forces elements.
