This morning, Tuesday, the people of Al-Bassirah city in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside began a general strike in the city following calls launched by activists in the city. D24 network correspondent said that the strike has paralyzed the movement in Al-Bassirah city, where all the shops and institutions stopped working in the city in response to the calls.
D24 network correspondent confirmed that the tribes in Al-Bassirah and the surrounding areas east of Deir Ezzor, seized dozens of oil tanker lorries and prevented them from moving.
According to the correspondent, the strike and the seizure of the oil tankers came as a result of the robbery that was carried out against the jeweler “Faisal al-Attiyah” in Al-Bassirah city yesterday, Monday.
The residents accused the members of the Syrian Democratic Forces “the SDF” of being behind the robbery carried out against the jeweler in Al-Bassirah city in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
In turn, the SDF brought military reinforcements to the area after the residents held a strike and seized dozens of oil tanker lorries.
It is noteworthy that Al-Bassirah city has recently staged demonstrations against the Syrian democratic forces, calling for the improvement of living conditions in the region.
It is indicated that Al-Bassirah city is one of the most important cities in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside and is inhabited by tens of thousands of civilians.
