Recently, some young people have returned to fishing in the waters of the Euphrates River, both to enjoy their personal hobby and to secure their daily sustenance as an additional source of income.
In the evening hours, these youths head to the Euphrates River to fish using nets or rods, after finishing their work in shops or their daily jobs within the city of DeirEzzor:
They often gather daily on the destroyed Siyasiyah Bridge, casting their fishing lines into the waters of the Euphrates River in hopes of earning some extra income.
Young man Qaisar Al-Ali confirmed that fishing is a personal hobby for him, but from time to time, he sells the fish he catches to traders or to families who have placed orders in advance.
All of these fishermen make sure to use legal fishing methods and avoid destructive practices like dynamite fishing, relying solely on nets and fishing rods.
It is worth noting that some fishermen come to catch fish for themselves and their families, while also enjoying their hobby along the banks of the Euphrates River.
