DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
The first day of Eid al-Fitr witnessed the absence of joy among the people of the areas controlled by the Assad regime in Deir Ezzor province, who were exhausted by high prices, the security grip, and the Fourth Division’s checkpoints.
The Eid was limited to visiting the homes of those who had lost someone from their family in recent months, so that the Eid became a day of collective mourning in every town and city.
Meanwhile, joy was absent among most of the children whose parents were unable to buy new clothes, except for those who were lucky to secure them from the used clothing markets, and bitter coffee replaced the monastery klija in the hospitality of the first day of Eid.
The people of Deir Ezzor, who live in areas controlled by the Assad regime, suffer from difficult economic conditions, which have led to a change in lifestyles, so they have abandoned many of the customs followed during the holidays due to their inability to secure their requirements.
