The Anti-Narcotics Branch in Deir Ezzor Governorate, in cooperation with the Directorate of Internal Security in the Mayadin area, managed to arrest a group of individuals involved in the trade and promotion of narcotic substances in the city of al-Asharah, located in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
The operation came after receiving accurate information about the group’s activities in the area. Specialized patrols were immediately dispatched and raided their locations, resulting in their arrest and the seizure of quantities of narcotic substances found in their possession.
Security authorities stated that the detainees were referred to the Anti-Narcotics Branch in Deir Ezzor to complete investigations and identify the remaining members of the network involved in the promotion and trafficking of narcotics, in preparation for referring them to the competent judiciary to receive their fair punishment in accordance with the law.
