The officers at the Panorama checkpoint in the city of Deir Ezzor arrested one of the drug dealers at exactly 2:00 a.m. last night as he attempted to leave the province.
During the arrest, the suspect tried to offer a bribe to the checkpoint officers amounting to 11,000 US dollars, in addition to a Glock pistol and abandoning his vehicle, in exchange for being allowed to pass.
Despite the substantial temptation and the late-night circumstances, the checkpoint officers firmly rejected the offer. The detainee was handed over to the competent authorities, which began completing the legal procedures in due form.
