The residents of Ma’dan in the western Deir Ezzor countryside are demanding the restoration and rehabilitation of the city’s only national hospital, which is almost completely destroyed, with the aim of providing the city with all the necessary medical supplies and departments, according to a reporter of DeirEzzor24 Network.
Our reporter said that the city has been subjected to clear marginalization in the health sector, particularly by the former regime, through the neglect of the national hospital and the establishment of a small medical clinic that provides only first aid in recent years.
The hospital served Ma’dan and the surrounding villages and towns in the western Deir ez-Zor countryside, extending to towns in the eastern Raqqa countryside.
In this context, Ms. Khawla al-Nasser, a resident of Ma’dan, confirmed to DeirEzzor 24 Network that they are forced to travel to Deir Ezzor city to receive treatment in free government hospitals and clinics, and sometimes even to the capital, Damascus, especially for chronic illnesses.
Ms. Khawla, via the DeirEzzor24 network, appealed to the Health Directorate and the Ministry of Health to reactivate and renovate the National Hospital in Maadan, making this a top priority.
Maadan National Hospital was completely out of service as a result of airstrikes by the former regime and Russian aircraft in 2016.
