The Deir Ezzor Health Directorate, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the International Committee of the Red Cross, announced the imminent opening of an integrated center for prosthetic limbs in the governorate, with the aim of supporting those affected and providing them with comprehensive health care.
According to Engineer Louay Ezz El-Din, Head of the Engineering Department at the Health Directorate, the new center will include a specialized workshop for manufacturing and installing prosthetic limbs, in addition to a physical therapy department and another psychological support department.
He stressed that this integration of services aims to provide comprehensive care to beneficiaries, starting with manufacturing the prosthetic limb, through physical rehabilitation, and ending with psychological support.
The Directorate explained that the center will be opened very soon, which will meet the increasing needs for prosthetic limbs and related services in Deir Ezzor Governorate, especially with the increasing number of affected people who need this specialized care.
This project is an important step towards strengthening health services in the area, and is the result of joint efforts between local authorities and international organizations to improve the quality of life for thousands of citizens.
