On Monday, December 22, the Deir Ezzor Governorate issued an official circular warning against the increasing encroachment on desert lands and state property, particularly rainfed farming practices carried out outside the established legal frameworks.
The Governorate explained that this warning was based on reports indicating clear violations of public lands, emphasizing that these actions constitute a blatant violation of applicable regulations and laws, and lead to damage to public property and land development and investment plans.
The Deir Ezzor Governorate called on citizens to fully comply with the regulations, laws, and instructions issued in this regard, and to adhere to the established legal procedures before commencing any agricultural activity on state lands, warning that any violation will subject the perpetrators to legal and penal accountability.
