The Ophthalmology Department was opened at Deir Ezzor National Hospital after completing its rehabilitation and equipment work, in a move aimed at enhancing the healthcare services provided to eye patients within the governorate.
The opening witnessed the introduction into service of the modern ultrasonic cataract fragmentation device (Phaco), provided as a grant from the International Sight Foundation, which contributes to raising the hospital’s surgical capacity and improving the quality of medical services provided.
The new device is expected to contribute to reducing the financial and moral burdens on patients, by allowing surgeries to be performed locally without the need to travel to other governorates, which will positively reflect on the speed and continuity of treatment.
This achievement comes within the framework of efforts aimed at developing the health sector in Deir Ezzor , supporting public hospitals with modern medical equipment to meet citizens’ needs and improve the level of health services.
