Sources told Deir Ezzor 24 that on Friday, March 12, 2021, Daesh distributed a written statement in areas in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
Activists circulated the statement on social media. The statement included the names of 27 people from the town of Jadid Akidat, eastern Deir Ezzor. The statement described these people as apostates because of cooperating with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The statement threatened that if they do not repent, they will face death and Daesh will destroy their houses.
Daesh added that it will publish additional names soon.
Daesh’ threats coincided with its cells’ killings and assassinations in eastern Deir Ezzor, east of the Euphrates. Such operations take place despite International Coalition’s and the SDF security campaigns against Daesh.
