According to D24 network correspondent, warplanes belonging to the international coalition bombed the Euphrates river bank in a town in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, which is dedicated to transporting and smuggling oil.
The correspondent pointed out that the bombing affected oil tankers and ferries used for transporting fuel from the east of the Euphrates to the areas controlled by the Assad regime on the opposite bank of the Euphrates river.
The correspondent noted that the campaign was launched by the Coalition at 5 a.m., affecting smuggling routes and lines between the two banks of the Euphrates river, and that the campaign aimed to prevent smuggling in the region.
The international coalition airstrikes came at the same time people of Deir Ezzor called for a stop to oil exporting and smuggling to the areas controlled by the Assad’s forces, and the work for reducing prices in the eastern Euphrates.
It is indicated that it is the first time that the international Coalition has targeted oil export points in the western Euphrates.
